During the Christmas getaway rush I decided to head down to Heathrow bright & early on one of the coldest mornings of the winter season so far. Temperature of -2°C when I arrived at around 8:30am. With 09R being used predominately for departures, however during the occasional break in departing traffic a handful of arrivals use 09R instead of 09L. So amongst the departures, expect to see a few arrivals too. Some stunning low winter sunlight makes for some stunning visuals and look out for the de-icing fluid on some of the departures. Green wings & tail on several of the aircraft, particularly the BA aircraft which had been on the ground overnight. Total of 28 stunning close up take offs and 6 beautiful landings. Apologies the first shot of the Qatar A330 landing, I had only just arrived and rushed to get my camera out for it. So it loses focus slightly as I wasn’t ready. But after that it’s all good!
